Luxembourgish Extreme Progressive Metal band Mindpatrol was founded in 2012 with the goal of creating something unique and new. Without limiting themselves to a particular style, the musicians decided to write only concept albums and adapt their songs to the mood of the story, including elements from such different styles as Power Metal, Black Metal or good old Doom.
While this plan did not work particularly well in their debut "Downfall Theatre", the successor "The Marble Fall", released in 2015, allowed Mindpatrol to show that they are indeed capable of growing into their initially planned ambitions. The numerous live shows quickly erased the youthful carelessness and awoke a hunger for more.
This appetite lead to the creation of "Vulture City", a concept album that tells the story of an orphaned pair of siblings, living in a dystopian future. Mindpatrol are painting a world, in which humanity is on the brink of extinction and has to question itself what's more important: free will or a safe place to live. "Vulture City" was produced by Sebastian Levermann at the Greenman Studios and released in December 2017. An eponymous novel, written by vocalist Luc François, expands the narrative of the album.
Looking for your daily dose of heaviness? Yes? Click no further, dear friend, for this one is exactly what you need!
Watch our dear Miguel Gruselle play "Calamity (The Cleansing)" from our current album "Vulture City" in the most urban and definitely not overused scenery we could come up with!
It's been a while, but we've got some good news to share! On September 21st, we will support mighty Infected Rain at the Irish House in Kaiserslautern. It will be our third time playing there, and we are very much looking forward to playing that show, given how much fun we had the last two times in good old Lautern. Be there!
New vocal cover: The Ocean - Bathyalpelagic II: The Wish In Dreams!
After seeing their fantastic live performance at Kulturfabrik Esch-sur-Alzette some weeks ago, Luc just had to try one of their songs. Since the latest album "Pelagic" came with an instrumental version, it was quite a no-brainer to go for the catchy, yet diverse "The Wish In Dreams".
Enjoy the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uercGD45K6g
In between his other band Fusion Bomb's preparations for their upcoming single release, Miguel was able to squeeze a guitar cover of Dutch Death Metal band I Chaos' "The Admonishment". If you take a very close look at his guitar, it is still ugly and green, but you are very close to your screen now.

We can finally confirm a new local show, namely the famous fête de la musique Dudelange! Yes, this will rock!
How about some Agent Fresco for you?
After witnessing their stellar live performance last year, Yann decided to record a cover of "Howls", taken from their latest album "Destrier". Enjoy! :)
New vocal cover online for Witherscape's "Divinity"!
Some (all) of you told Luc not to stare into the camera like a lunatic when recording his videos. Look what you did! Look. What. You. Did.
Enjoy the cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl53xU4N_sc
Cologne, you'll have us back in March! We stopped counting, but this might be our 20th or 50th show with our dear friends in Feradur. <3
Don't miss this great line-up: https://www.facebook.com/events/189733025133997/
Hooray, not only will we play in Belgium again, but this will also mark our new members' first live show with Mindpatrol.

After shifting our focus on the release of our new album "Vulture City" those past few weeks, we finally found a little spare time to record another guitar cover. It's Miguel's turn to wreak havoc with this lovely Revocation tune. Listen if you're not spineless!

Mindpatrol has grown to eight members! Please welcome Romain Gruselle as our second drummer and Miguel Gruselle as our fourth guitarist! :D
Wait what, two drummers and four guitarists? What for? Well, as you might know, we're all having other bands and side projects, which results in a very stuffed calendar. This can easily break a band's neck, so we decided to tackle this problem early and looked for a solution that suits everyone. While trying to find a good solution, we all made the same observation: We're having a blast creating music together and driving around as a bunch of friends to present it on this world's stages.
The obvious first idea would be to look for live replacements, so we can still go crazy on stage when our mates in Decipher, Fusion Bomb and We Knew John Doe are busy. On the other hand, we don't like the idea of someone being only a replacement. That's why we decided to ask Romain and Miguel to become permanent members of Mindpatrol – they put the same effort in practicing our songs and writing new music, so it's only natural that we're all on the same level!
Our live shows won't be affected by this change: There will still be six people on stage, but you may notice some changing faces every now and then. After our first rehearsal with Romain and Miguel, we are more than confident that we will share a great time on and off stage, and we can't wait to work on new songs with those two!
Long story short: 2018 promises to become an incredible year for us! :)
The first time we played at the Metalfestival Kopstal, it was Yann's first show with Mindpatrol. A lot has changed since, but Kopstal has always stayed Luxembourg's number one meeting point for the local metal community. No need to tell you how much we're looking forward to playing there again! ;)
It was hard, but we managed to make our drummer Scott wear both trousers and a tshirt for the video! That's nothing you see every day... Or is it a wonder? ;)
You're looking for some more new material? Look no further! Here's "I, Observer With Crimson Hands", the nasty angry one from our new album "Vulture City": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThhW1i1ua3o
Dear friends, the digital presale for our new album "Vulture City" has officially started! Grab your copy while it's hot!

Official video for "Her Dire Sacrifice" released!
It has been two years since the release of "The Marble Fall", two years well spent with working like madmen to refine our music and create an album that is worth your time. Still, working on this album felt incredibly refreshing as we were not only growing together as a band, but also had the honour to work with talented people like Benedikt Dresen from Upstart Media, who directed the video, and Sebastian Levermann, who crafted us a wonderful sound in his Greenman Studios.
We wish to thank all actors and helpers, especially the Wacken Foundation, Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture and Luxembourg's National Cultural Fund for supporting the album production and a second time the National Cultural Fund for also supporting the video.
Please enjoy what you hear and see, leave us a comment and share the video with your friends. :-)
As you might know, we're quite silly from time to time. One example is the super serious and totally natural studio diary, we uploaded just now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClRPtxLSI98&lc=z22suxt44njasxnrm04t1aokgodcmexqzga43b501ayfrk0h00410
Our friends in Fallen Lies invited us to the first edition of their Wintermeltdown festival, which will take place on December 2nd in Mertzig: https://www.facebook.com/events/352250251900436/
Vultures! Vultures everywhere!
We've got new shirts, which you can get at our shows, starting on Friday at Metallische Kleinstadtklänge Vol 2 - Awaiting Downfall uvm. Once again, Cripper's wonderful Christian Bröhenhorst created the artwork.
Take a look right here!
Hooray! Luc recorded another vocal cover and tried something completely different from the usual Metal yelling. "Is" is a rather short and emotional song, taken from the soundtrack of the Anime "Zankyou No Terror".
Cover time! Our dear Yann recorded a little something from mighty Karnivool. "Scarabs" it is! Please enjoy the video!
Two new gigs mean twice the fun!
First of all, there's the On Stéitsch festival at Rotondes in Luxembourg city, where you will find a blend of all musical styles and other arts: https://www.facebook.com/events/237630019978472/
Next, our friends in Apallic Decay invited us to join a loud evening at the Irish House in Kaiserslautern. With a total of 6 bands, you are guaranteed to have a blast: https://www.facebook.com/events/1472571496143968/
What the ... Luc did a cover of The Hirsch Effekt's "Aldebaran", which has left some severe marks on him. He's in a sanitarium now, recovering from the shock and still yelling things like "MOGELPRESSE!!1" and "MUSS MAN WISSEN!!1". Get well soon, Luc!
After collaborating with the fantastic Detharmonic from Mexico, Luc did another cooperation that spans over two continents! He lent his voice to Argentinian guitarist Nahuel Leiva for a cover of Adagio's "Undead"!
Chug, chug, watch Miguels newest cover of "Letting Them Fall..." by Abominable Putridity! Evil to the bone!
After participating in the first edition of Metallische Kleinstadtklänge two years ago, our friends in Awaiting Downfall invited us to participate a second time in this great event. Damn, we're looking so much forward to returning to Geseke!
Here's the event: www.facebook.com/events/1403962019687287
After a short summer break, we are happy to present you a new cover. This time, Luc gave "Disgusted By Mankind" from our friends in Heaven's Scum a try. Get your daily dose of hate here and now!
We are very excited to announce the release party of our third album "Vulture City", which will take place on December 9th at Kulturfabrik. Our friends in Feradur, Desdemonia and Awaiting Downfall will join us when we play that special location for the first time!
Welcome to the gutter!
Let us invite you to Vulture City, one of the last shelters of mankind! There are plenty of somber stories in between these ashen walls – we present you the darkest one on our third album "Vulture City", set to be released towards the end of 2017. Accompanied by a book, written by our vocalist Luc François, this will mark the next chapter in Mindpatrol's history.
Artwork by the amazing Stéphane Pianon.
Music knows no borders! Some time ago, Luc was asked by some Mexican metalheads if he was interested in lending his voice for a Dethklok cover. Sure he was! The result is not only a mighty tune with an incredibly charming video, but also a growing friendship with these great and passionate people.
Please enjoy the video and head over to the Detharmonic page to stay tuned for more great music! :)
Watch Miguel's cover of "Five Nails Through The Neck", taken from Cannibal Corpse's album "Kill". We wonder how long these nails must be to get through Corpsegrinder's neck.
Some work on our third album is still do be done, so Luc recorded a new vocal cover to shorten the wait! Listen to his take on Arch Enemy's "War Eternal", taken from their first album with new vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.
Luc did a new vocal cover and it's by far his most complex one. After recording his version of Persefone's "Prison Skin", his brain was all vegetables! Listen and enjoy! :)
Watch our brave Yann “Phantes“ Weidig play his first guitar cover for The Dillinger Escape Plan's “Happiness Is A Smile“: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej-BjR1B-ms&feature=youtu.be
You sane today? We don't know about Miguel, who covered The Faceless' "Hymn Of Sanity", but bad puns are bad, and so are our video editing skills. Enjoy the cover! :)
Cover time! Luc gave Gojira's "Silvera" a try and decided to annoy the neighbours a little by recording the video outside. The sunny weather was just too tempting! :)
Watch the video right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoffI9mjZ6s
Cover time! This time, Luc wanted to be challenged: One does not simply sing Hansi Kürsch's song without it resulting in major blasphemy!
Please enjoy the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBsdrHOXZZk
Cover time! Let our dear Miguel seduce you with some tasty Meshuggah, will y00-000-1-0000u?

Ready for an overdose of interwebz? Here you go!
With this video, we want to present to you the newest addition to our merch table: The Golden Lighter. Oh no, we're not yet done making fun of ourselves because of that ungodly trainwreck of a song that is "Golden Light"! So you're most likely wondering why on earth one would do such a thing as dedicate that song a merchandise item, aren't you?
The answer is quite simple: So we could create a fine promotional video like the one below. Please enjoy the video and get yourself a Golden Lighter for maximum enlightenment!
Skolopendar "Territorium" release show
+ Skolopendar, Feradur
Time for another vocal cover!
Lamb of God's "Walk With Me In Hell" is a modern classic and at the same time an incredibly fun song to sing. Don't tell us you didn't expect this! Now please follow the link and enjoy the cover: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bADDGpg-GGw
PS: Yes, there will also be instrumental covers in the coming weeks, but so far, we weren't able to tackle these due to exams.
Dear friends, here is the second entry in the series of covers we started two weeks ago. It's another vocal cover, but this time Luc sang with at least 50% more anger and hatred. Well, that's what Dethklok's "Laser Cannon Deth Sentence" is about, isn't it?
Please enjoy the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz8BrCJykSs
We promised you a surprise on Facebook, here it is!
From now on, we will release a cover every two weeks, starting with a vocal cover of Sleepers' Guilt's 13-minute-monster "Vipassana"! The original version features Patrick Junio from Infact and Noemie Leer from Elysian Gates as guests, so this was quite a challenge for Luc.
We hope that you'll enjoy this first cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz8BrCJykSs
The people from Rock Show Saar visited our last gig and did a video about the whole thing, including some live footage and interviews. It was an absolutely great evening with absolutely great people, so you should absolutely watch this!

Last weekend, we did not only play the Schlacht um Otzenhausen, but we also recorded the music video for an upcoming song with Benedikt Dresen from Upstart Media.
Right now, we are equally happy and tired: Preparing and recording the video was quite exhausting, but all the people we worked with did an absolutely great job, and we feel that things couldn't have gone better! In order to illustrate the huge dedication of everyone in the team, take a look at this picture of our friend Andrea, who endured a whole day in the cold all wet and dirty: http://tinyurl.com/gpsekd7
Exactly one year ago, the release party for our second album "The Marble Fall" took place. To celebrate this, we decided to release another song of the album along with a lyric video, showing footage from our performance on Awaiting Downfall's release party. The footage was recorded by Marius Schulte Media while the clip itself was created by our dear friend Yannick Schockmel.

Due to a cancellation of another band, we got invited to play this year's Schlacht um Otzenhausen. No need to tell you how excited we are to join this great line-up! Also on board: Our local friends in Sublind and Sleepers' Guilt. In other words: Will be good!
Here's the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1699252317003390/
We got accepted as participating band for this year's Durbuy Rock Festival Tremplin, which means that you can see us in Arlon on December 10th (and with some luck also on the festival itself next year).
Here's the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1609650125999035/
We are really excited to announce that we will be supporting Warrel Dane, the voice of Nevermore and Sanctuary, when he plays in Arlon on September 25th! Huge thanks to Cronos ASBL for letting us be a part of this!
Hooray, finally playing in Luxembourg again. Like last year, we do a show in December in the Brasserie Soundcheck in Mertzig. This time, we'll share the stage with Hallimasch, Fallen Lies, Awaiting Downfall and Mike Litoris Complot.
We are happy to confirm a new gig, and it's a spooky one! We'll play this year's Monster Metal Halloween Party with Battlesword and Thakandar. Here's the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1572662719706009/
After Miguel Teixeira joined Mindpatrol as new guitarist earlier this year, we felt that we had to present his playing in some way. At the same time, we wanted to rework a song from our first album "Downfall Theatre" and give it away for free, so a perfect opportunity was born.
We chose "Depulsoris Ira" to be revised, as this rather straightforward, yet extremely fun to play song is one of Miguel's favourites on "Downfall Theatre". In addition to some minor improvements, the new version comes with a new solo, written by Miguel. The new version of "Depulsoris Ira" was recorded and mixed our own Muschel Productions Studios and mixed by Orden Ogan singer Sebastian Levermann in his Greenman Studios.
Now please enjoy the song and find a link for the free download in the video description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq-qUEZEmwQ
The title says it all: We're going to play with our super sexy friends in Slaughterra and Voice Of Warning in the Irish House in Kaiserslautern. This is quite special for us because Kaiserslautern is the very place where Mindpatrol was founded back in 2012! Here's the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/232405983808517/
Hooray, let's announce two gigs in one day! We're going to play in Saarbrücken on November 19th, together with our friends in Godslave and Berserk Inc., who play a special comeback show. Here's the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/107896639634204/
A rather spontaneous show with our good friends in X Ryder and Abstract Rapture. Especially attractive for those who have finished their exams by then and want to celebrate this with some loud tunes.
Here's the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/891056701020377/
This year's edition of Rock om Gau, where we were supposed to play, was cancelled. Watch the video below for more information.
What else could be the title of the first news post right here? We thought that after all the changes, that 2016 already brought to us, a web page would be a nice new thing to have. So here it is, Mindpatrol.net, and we hope that you'll like it! As we're still trying out some things right here, you might see some sections come and go. After all, it is the first time that we do this kind of thing.
